In order to set up and develop youir own Internet Business, you will need the following: -

Your own Product

This must be something to sell that people want to buy.  You need to be able to create your own products to sell, or act as an agent, selling other peoples products.

Your own Domain Name

Your Internet Business needs a unique Domain name so that your visitors and customers can find you on the Internet.  Ideally, your domain name should indicate what product or service you are offering to your customers.

All Domain names have to be registered with specialist Domain name registers. The cost for this is typically $40 to $60 ( £20 to £30) per year. Discounts are available if you register your domain names for more than one year.

Your own Website Hosting Company

You need your own website hosted by a dedicated hosting company Typically, a hosting company will charge between $10 and $20 ( £5 and £10) per month to host your site. This will include a business email address linked to your website. 

You should NOT use the common email/ website providers to host your website such as aol.com, Yahoo.com, MSN.com, etc. Although these companies will host a website, they have severe restrictions on what you can use the website for, and the amount of space and traffic they will allocate to you.

Your Own Website

You need to be able to create your own web site or pay someone to create it for you. If you have any experience of computer programming, the programming language (known as HTML) used to create websites is easy to learn and apply. A good HTML programming manual typically costs around $30 ( £20).

If you want some-one to create a website for you, it can cost between $200 and $2000 ( £100 and £1000) depending on how many pages the website needs.

Your Own On-Line Account

You need to be able to accept payments for the sale of your own products from your website. I recommend setting up an account with ClickBank (go to http://www.clickbank.com for more details) or with PayPal (go to http://www.paypal.com for more details).

Both Clickbank and PayPal take a small percentage of your sales income for providing this service.

Marketing your Website

You need to market your website to propective customers, usually through the internet search engines, such as Google, so that people who are searching the internet for your products can find you.

How to proceed

Within these various stages there is a range of know-how needed.
