Connecting Mailloop 7.0 to an Existing Email Account
Connecting Mailloop 7.0 to existing email accounts
You can connect Mailloop 7.0 to any mail account as long as it is a POP account.
Some mail accounts such as Hotmail are web-based accounts, which cannot be accessed or filtered by third-party
software such as Mailloop 7.0. To determine if your mail account is a POP account, contact the company that
provides your mail service; in most cases, this will be your Internet Service Provider, or ISP.
Information you will need
Once you have confirmed that your mail account is a POP account, you will need the
following information before you can connect Mailloop 7.0 to that account:
- Your email address. (E.g., yourname@serviceprovider.com)
- The address of the POP server on which the mail account resides. (E.g., int-mail.serviceprovider.com)
This information specifies where Mailloop will check for new messages that have been sent to your account.
- The username you use to access the account. (E.g., yourname)
- The password you use to access the account.
- If you will be using Mailloop 7.0 to send mail through your ISP (instead of using MyMailer to send
mail directly from your computer), you will need the address of the local SMTP server through which your mail is sent.
(e.g..mail@serviceprovider.com). You can get this address by contacting your ISP. Be sure to ask whether the SMTP server
requires authentication; if it does, you will need a username and password
When you have collected this information, you are ready
to create a mail account.
